Tax Litigation
Corporate And Individual Taxpayer Representation
The O’Toole Law Firm has elected to make this one of the firm’s areas of concentration. While serving in the insurance industry, Mr. O’Toole was an adjuster who handled claims on behalf of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ sponsored insurance company. In addition to the typical audit and attestation claims brought against accountants, Mr. O’Toole became familiar with the exposures associated with such professionals as well as their corporate and individual clients. In addition to being a licensed attorney, Mr. O’Toole is a registered Illinois certified public accountant (CPA) (inactive) and has received his masters in tax law (LLM) from DePaul University in Chicago.
The O’Toole Law Firm focuses on tax litigation only and not in the preparation or correction of state and federal tax returns or schedules – this is what CPAs and others do best. We will doggedly represent our small business corporate and individual clients before the Internal Revenue Service as well as state agencies in matters involving audits and collections, including offers in compromise. If judicial relief is necessary, we will avail of this alternative as well at the Tax Court level and with the 7th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.
